KijijiWIFI: WiFi for underserved communities

KijijiWIFI is a community WiFi management platform designed for local internet service providers in underserved areas. It integrates router-level provisioning with mobile-money payments to make internet access more accessible.

The problem

A small ISP in a village does not need a billing department. It needs to sell a day of internet to a customer, right now, and have the router let that customer online. Anything more complicated than that does not get used.

What the platform does

• Provisions customers directly at the router level
• Takes payment through mobile money, which is how most people here already pay
• Keeps the operator in control of who is online and for how long

Combining provisioning and payment in one place is what makes it usable — the operator never has to reconcile two systems by hand.
